NBC News/WSJ/Marist poll shows Hilalry Clinton up in battleground states

Good news and bad within a few hours for the Clinton campaign.

FBI Director James Comey said last week that Clinton’s actions did not warrant prosecution and the Justice Department declined to seek criminal charges.

The poll was conducted after the Federal Bureau of Investigation recommended that Clinton should not face criminal charges for her use of a private email account and servers as secretary of state.

She and other experts said several factors could have played a role in turnout dropping ahead of election day. They would have been down the river.

One thing’s for certain: Voter turnout is primed to be even lower than usual.

“It goes against the claims of the (former presidential candidate) Mitt Romneys of the world, that Trump is not really a Republican, that he doesn’t represent the Republican party”.

So while Hillary Clinton’s impulse is understandable, it is also self-defeating, as now evidenced by the growing portion of the public that doesn’t trust her.

The former first lady also tops Trump 67 percent to 12 percent on the question of which candidate would do the most to improve the lives of Hispanics. I’ll leave you with a friendly reminder of exactly how awkward and inept Hillary Clinton is relating to fellow humans. And only 6 percent think Clinton did nothing wrong at all.

Nearly two-thirds of those surveyed in July said Clinton was untrustworthy compared to 56 percent who felt that way in February.

Interestingly, Bernie Sanders still polls more favorably than Clinton, though the survey was taken before he officially endorsed her presidential bid on Tuesday. He feels that, by cutting off alternatives to status quo Democrats and Republicans, the political establishment has set limits on political discourse that are, in principle, at odds with the free and democratic society American politicians claim to support. “And it’s so typical of the Clintons: they just think they’re above the law and above everybody else”. Marco Rubio leading Democratic Rep. Patrick Murphy by 3 points, 47 percent to 44 percent. Neither poll suggests Clinton holds the backing of a majority of younger voters.

In fact, white evangelicals who say they would choose Trump mainly as a vote against Clinton outnumber those who say their choice is mainly one for Trump by a 45 per cent to 30 per cent margin. She noted that the number only accounts for about 34 percent of California’s eligible voters.

Carole Bower, 75, a retiree in Carthage, Illinois, supported Gov. John Kasich of OH in the Republican primary, but now plans to vote for Trump. “The truthfulness is everything”.
