You would think that after working in a franchise like Harry Potter as one of the key characters during your childhood, you would never have to worry about finances again. But turns out that is not the case for actor Rupert Grint. Grint, who is known for playing Ron in the eight Harry Potter movies is reported to have failed in his attempt to shield some of his Harry Potter income from a 10% higher tax rate. The bid, had it gone successfully, could have saved the 27-year-old about £1.3m. Grint had appealed against HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) block on him using a change in accounting dates to avoid the 50% tax rate introduced in 2010-11, but the bid was rejected by a tax tribunal judge.
