Deepika Padukone’s debut Hollywood film with co-star Vin Diesel has created a lot of buzz in India. The actor finished shooting for the movie last month.
HT Café had earlier reported that when she had finished shooting for the project, Deepika had picked gifts, including potli bags and saris, for her staff in Mumbai and for the cast of her Hollywood film.
“I gifted Vin and others some Indian presents. Hopefully, when we start promoting the film, you will see Vin in a Pathani or a sherwani,” says Deepika.
The actor will start working on her next Bollywood project in September, but refuses to divulge more details. However, when asked if it’s a risk for actors to take up international ventures, considering they might lose out on work in India, Deepika says an actor “needs to be fearless and willing to take risks”.
She hopes more Indian artistes will take up international projects. “I feel creativity should go beyond boundaries. An actor should be cast in a film on the basis of his or her talent. Your region or gender shouldn’t matter,” she says.
