The line "We are not amused" is famously attributed to Queen Victoria, who, as legend has it, uttered the phrase after seeing a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore...or, as other legends have it, dropped the quip after hearing the unfunny punch line of a guest's joke. And whether she said it or not, the line has become ingrained in our culture, and, at times, our faces―including the visage of Victoria's great-great-granddaughter Elizabeth II, who turns 90 today. So, to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's birthday, 35 times she was not amused―for, well, your amusement.
