'Baar Baar Dekho' review round-up: Sidharth-Katrina's film bags mixed verdict from critics

"Baar Baar Dekho" is a new age love story that has received mixed reviews from critics.

"Baar Baar Dekho" is a new age love story and showcases the journey of Jay (Sidharth) and Diya (Katrina) from being teenagers in love to a married couple in their sixties. It highlights the troubled phase in their relationship, and how they tackle the obstacles in life.
The film has created a huge buzz among movie-goers owing to the chart-buster song, "Kala Chashma" as well as the trailer and the posters.
This is the first time the attractive pair of Sidharth and Katrina are seen together on screen. The sizzling chemistry between the two and Katrina's hot looks are some of the highlights of the film.
Directed by Nitya Mehra and co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani, "Baar Baar Dekho" has been shot at beautiful locales, including Scotland and the beaches of the Krabi island in Thailand.
We bring here the verdict of some critics on the movie. See the reviews below in the "Baar Baar Dekho" review round-up:
Manjusha Radhakrishnan of Gulf News said: "This is no baar baar dekho, which means to watch again and again. Reserve this for a one-time watch. The phase in which he's (Sidharth) an old, dejected soul looks terribly contrived. Even (Katrina) Kaif cannot pull off a fake grey wig and doesn't age too well. They look fetching together and it sometimes glosses over some glaring over-the-top twists."
Surabhi Redkar of Koimoi said: "Baar Baar Dekho is an 'Ek Baar Dekho' affair. A fresh pairing of good looking actors, good music and a commercial love story is the mainstay. The writers involve a time travel twist to this love story and that keeps us chasing them from 2016 to 2023 and so on. While the thought behind this tale is quite endearing, it does not sum up perfectly."
