Sunny Leone gives her own film’s premiere a MISS!

Sunny Leone did not attend the premiere of her own documentary - Mostly Sunny at the Toronto International Film Festival 2016...

Keeps director Dilip Mehta in the dark about her absence…

A few days back we revealed to you how Sunny Leone set the ramp on fire as she walked for Archana Kochhar at the New York Fashion Week 2016. She became the first Bollywood actress to walk at the prestigious fashion week and we were super proud of the diva. She later went and chilled with Priyanka Chopra too. The two hotties had a fun evening and we loved how Sunny and Priyanka bonded. However, looks like the Beimaan Love actress’ stay in America has hit controversy now!
Sunny Leone’s absence at the premiere of a documentary at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) raised several eyebrows. And this was because the said documentary, Mostly Sunny, is about her own rise to Bollywood stardom from her beginnings in the adult movie business.
The two-hour film, helmed by photographer Dilip Mehta, had Sunny and husband Daniel Weber’s approval and participation, but now, it seems to have run afoul of the Leone camp. Says a source from Toronto, “The premiere of the Sunny documentary was held on Sunday night at TIFF. Dilip and his sister Deepa Mehta had even organised a lunch in honour of Sunny, which she was to attend along with her husband. But she didn’t turn up for the lunch or the premiere in the evening.”
When contacted, Sunny and Daniel told us they were in New York attending a family function. Says Daniel, “Sunny had a prior commitment. Sunday was a very important day for our nephew (Daniel’s nephew). He had his bar mitzvah (Jewish coming-of-age ceremony for boys) that day and this was planned in advance.”
Then again, so was the film’s premiere in Toronto. Why wasn’t the filmmaker and his team informed of Sunny’s unavailability on said date? Strange, isn’t it?
On the professional front, Sunny is currently waiting for the release of her next – Beimaan Love, which also stars Rajneesh Duggal, Daniel Webber and Yuvraj Singh. She will then be seen in a few special appearances in Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees, Sonakshi Sinha’sNoor and Emraan Hashmi-Ajay Devgn’s Baadshaho. On returning from America, she is also scheduled to shoot with Arbaaz Khan for Tera Intezaar.
Anyway, tell us what you think about Sunny Leone giving her own documentary a miss in the comments section below!
