Great news for customers porting mobile numbers

Telecom Regulatory Authority AIFA India has become quite active in the present time. Which has recently been seen as a major change in the sector of telecom sector. Telecom Regulatory Authority AIFA India (TRAI) has implemented a new rule on mobile number portability, which will provide great relief to customers.




According to the TRAI's new rule, it will be easier to port mobile number. Now consumers will be able to port their mobile number in just 2 days. It is important that consumers take 15 days to port the first mobile number. Customers were given a UPC code to port mobile number. There was a validity of 15 days. But according to the new rules, consumer UPC code will be used only for 4 days. Within 4 days the customer's mobile number will be ported.



The new rule of TRAI also states that if a telecom company prevents users from porting mobile numbers. After this there may be a penalty up to Rs 10,000 on that company. Telecom companies can prevent mobile numbers from being ported to consumers due to technical reasons

However, in order to implement this new rule, TRAI has given 180 days to all telecom operators. In which all telecom operators like Idea, Vodafone, Airtel and Reliance Jio have been ordered to make changes in their software. The consumer will get the benefit of this rule only from June 2019.
